So a little ssi fun fact
in this example we're talking about getting paid every 2 weeks for a month or 4 weeks
so 2 paychecks
if you work say 30 hours every 2 weeks or 60 hours a month(4 weeks)
you get paid the exact same amount as working 50 hours for 2 weeks or 100 hours for 4 weeks
80 you get regardless without any math we're not going to count that
I believe it's around 1/3 that gets taken out
so lets say you get 900 ssi and you make $11 before tax $10 is what you take home
if you work 100 hours a month which really isn't THAT much but it is a lot
you're looking at 1,000$
if they take 1/3 or 33% out of your $900 ssi check because you made $1000
now your ssi check is 900 800 700 600
so you end up with $1,600 for working 100 hours making $1,000 and getting $600 from ssi
if you work 60 hours for that month
you make $600 and get $200 taken out of the $900
leaving you with $1,300
meaning 100 hours 1,600 and 60 hours 1,300 a 300 dollar difference
for 40 hours difference
40 hours should be $400 that you make extra
but you only would make $300 extra and work 40 more hours
so is it better to work that much harder and just scrape the bottom of the barrel
or do you work lighter and basically get all the top of the barrel and work much less
